- 1). Click the power button on your Windows computer system to turn it on. Make sure that the computer starts up normally and is not in safe-mode or any other selective start-up options.
- 2). Wait until your computer is fully loaded up before beginning. Most computers take up to two minutes to completely load all of their start-up programs.
- 3). Drag your mouse pointer across the screen to the start menu and click the icon on the task bar. When the menu pops open, look for "Control Panel" and click it.
- 4). Looking at the Control Panel menu screen, you will see one of two things. On the top left of the screen, if your computer is set to view the Control Panel by categories, you will see the phrase "Switch to Classic View." If you see this phrase, click it; if not, that means you're already in classic view mode.
All the programs and options in the control panel are in alphabetical order. Scroll to the bottom of the page, click the speech function icon and set the program up.
