While you're going to encounter countless claims and articles that talk about what treatments for anxiety to seek out, I'm going to tell you what treatments for anxiety to avoid.
I despise those that bring up a problem and then don't offer a solution, so I'll also tell you what does work and, since there is only one thing that does eliminate anxiety, that's the lesser part of the story.
When it comes to treatments for anxiety the most commonly promoted and used is that of medications.
Most people are told they need two types; a long term drug that takes weeks to have effects and a fast-acting drug that stops panic attacks once they start.
These don't work for a few reasons; one, anxiety is not a chemical imbalance like the pharmaceutical companies make you believe.
Instead, your brain is having an abnormal reaction to regular stimuli.
Anxiety also begins hours and hours before it is felt.
It is during this time that treatments for anxiety, like the one that works, are employed.
Do I really have to tell you that therapy doesn't work? Therapy is one of the common treatments for anxiety.
Unless your anxiety is due to a psychological disorder, like post-traumatic stress disorder, then therapy won't help you.
In fact, when you talk about your anxiety it gets worse! While it may seem blunt or crude to say this, I'm going to anyway: avoid therapy and avoid the medications we've already discussed.
You'll make the cycle of anxiety worse for certain.
