- Press the "Settings" button on your iPhone's home screen. Within the settings menu, select "General" and then "About." The "About" menu will list a substantial amount of information about your phone including how many songs and photos you have stored on it, the number applications you have, and your phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth addresses. The firmware version will be listed with the word "Version."
- Plug your iPhone into your computer and launch iTunes. Click the icon of your iPhone from the list on the left side of the program to launch your iPhone menu. The firmware version your phone is using will be listed on the screen. Click the "Check Update" button to update the firmware on your phone to the latest version.
