- 1). Click the "Start" button on the lower-left corner of the desktop screen, then click the "All Programs" option in the resulting menu. The program list will appear.
- 2). Select the "Accessories" option.
- 3). Choose the "System Tools" option under the "Accessories" sub-menu.
- 4). Click the "System Restore" option. The "Welcome to System Restore" dialog box will show up.
- 5). Click on the "Restore My Computer to an Earlier Time" option, then click on the "Next" button, located in the lower part of the dialog box.
- 6). Under "Select a Restore Point," choose a point in the calendar when your computer's file system was normal.
- 7). Click on the "Next" button, located in the lower portion of the dialog box. Your computer will be restored to this point in the calender. Windows will be restored along with the file system to a stable state. This will stop any error messages or computer issues connected to a corrupted file system.
