How to Get the Windows Vista Sidebar Back

    • 1). Click the "Start" button on the bottom toolbar. Click the "All Programs" tab.

    • 2). Click the "Accessories" category. Right-click the "Command Prompt" program. Click the "Run as administrator" option.

    • 3). Type in the administrator password if prompted. Press "Enter."

    • 4). Type "Regsvr32 atl.dll" in the command prompt. Press "Enter."

    • 5). Type "Regsvr32 "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\sbdrop.dll" in the command prompt. Press "Enter."

    • 6). Type "Regsvr32 "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\wlsrvc.dl" in the command prompt window. Press "Enter."

    • 7). Type "Exit" and press "Enter."

    • 8). Shut down and restart your computer. The side toolbar will appear when Windows Vista restarts.
