How to Disable the Built-in Microphone on My IBM T41

    • 1). Click your computer's "Start" menu and choose "Control Panel." Click "Classic View" in the left pane.

    • 2). Open the "System and Maintenance" section of the Control Panel and click "Device Management."

    • 3). Scroll to the "Sound, Video and Audio" section and click the "+" sign. Double-click the entry for "Internal Microphone" and click the "Driver" tab. Hit "Disable."

    • 4). Click "OK." Your microphone will now be inaccessible by any programs until you repeat these steps and hit "Enable."
