How to Remove the Lower Finish Panel in a 1987 Toyota Camry

    • 1). Turn off the Camry's engine and remove the key from the ignition switch. Open the hood and turn the nut on the negative battery cable counterclockwise to loosen the clamp. Lift the cable away from the post to disconnect the battery. Wait 10 minutes before proceeding. This disarms the airbag system.

    • 2). Inspect the lower finish panel closely. You'll find three Phillips screws on the upper-left edge and two Phillips screws on the bottom-right edge.

    • 3). Remove each of the Phillips screws and store them in a small container.

    • 4). Grasp each side of the lower finish panel with your hands. Pull the panel toward you to remove it from the Camry's dash.
