How to Remove Annoying Windows Sounds

    • 1). Click the "Start" button and select "Control Panel."

    • 2). Click "Hardware and Sound" from the Control Panel.

    • 3). Click "Change System Sounds" under the Sound heading. This opens a new "Sound" window.

    • 4). Click the top "Sound Scheme" drop-down menu and select a new sound scheme, such as "Festival," "Garden" or "Sonata." You can also select "No Sounds" to disable all sound events within Windows.

    • 5). Click an event from the "Program Events" list to select it.

    • 6). Click the bottom "Sounds" drop-down menu and select a new sound from the list. Click "Test" to preview the sound before applying it.

    • 7). Click "OK" to accept your new sounds.
