How to Do Subscript in Excel 2007

    • 1). Launch Microsoft Excel 2007, and open the desired spreadsheet where you want to use the subscript.

    • 2). Select the text you need to format. To turn an entire cell into a subscript, click inside the cell once to highlight it. To select certain characters inside the cell, double-click inside the cell, then click and drag the mouse to highlight the desired text.

    • 3). Navigate to the "Home" tab in the top of the software. Under "Font," select the tiny down arrow button, located at the bottom right corner of the font formatting icons. This will launch a new dialog box.

    • 4). Locate the "Effects" heading under the "Font" tab in the dialog box. Place a check mark by the "Subscript" option. Select "OK" to close the dialog box. Your text should now appear in subscript format.
