How to Find Loopback on a Cisco

    • 1). Click the "Start" button on the Windows 7 desktop taskbar and click "Programs" and then click "Accessories." Click on the command line icon and the command line window will appear.

    • 2). Type "telnet a.b.c.d" except replace the "a.b.c.d" with the IP address of the Cisco device for which you want to view a loopback interface. Tap the "Enter" key.

    • 3). Type the telnet password at the command line if prompted and press the "Enter" key. Type "enable" at the command prompt and touch the "Enter" key. Enter the Privileged Exec password if prompted and tap the "Enter" key.

    • 4). Enter "show interfaces" at the command prompt and tap the "Enter" key. Press the "Enter" key to scroll down the command line output and view the loopback interfaces and their settings.
