How to Replace the Fog Light in a 2002 Nissan Maxima

    • 1). Open the hood of the Maxima. Disconnect the negative (black) battery cable by loosening the nut on the cable clamp, using an insulated wrench.

    • 2). Remove the single screw at the outside corner of the headlight housing, using a Phillips screwdriver.

    • 3). Rock the fog light housing back and forth to loosen it from the car body, then pull it straight out.

    • 4). Twist the light bulb socket in the back of the housing counterclockwise to remove it from the housing. Pull the old light bulb out of the socket.

    • 5). Push the new light bulb in place within the socket. Don't touch the bulb's glass with your bare hands; use latex or similar gloves when handling the bulb.

    • 6). Connect the bulb socket into the headlight housing and turn it counterclockwise to lock it into place. Insert the lamp housing into its hole within the car body and secure it with the mounting screw.

    • 7). Reconnect the Maxima's negative battery cable and close the hood.
