How to Change Media Center's Default Directory

    • 1). Click the Windows "Start" button and select the "Windows Media Center" link from the Programs list to open the application.

    • 2). Click the "Tasks" option from the top navigation bar.

    • 3). Click "Settings" from the context menu.

    • 4). Click the "TV" option, and then select "Recordings." Click the "Recorder Storage" option, if available. (This option is included in newer versions of Media Center.)

    • 5). Click the "Change" button next to the "Storage Location" input box in older versions of Media Center. A drive and folder navigation window will appear.

    • 6). Click the "+" next to the drive letter and select a folder for the new location for saved Media Center data.

    • 7). Click the "Save" button to save the settings.
