How to Fix Limewire Problems

    • 1). Reboot Limewire. Programs can hang, stutter and crash unpredictably. Closing and reopening the program clears it from RAM and allows it to reload, one hopes, without hitch the second time around.

    • 2). Check your network, as Limewire relies on your network to work. Open your browser and see if you can connect normally. If not, you may want to restart your router. If you can, Limewire most likely has a connection issue. Check to see if the proper ports are open on your router, whether or not your firewall is "in the way," or if a third party program such as virus protection software is blocking it. If so, you may need to disable these precautions.

    • 3). Reinstall the program. Make sure to completely uninstall the program to remove all traces of it, and then reinstall it. This will deal with any major bugs or corruption issues Limewire may have had. Restart your computer after doing so.
