How to Determine Amount of Used Memory in Vista Home

    • 1). Click your Windows "Start" button. Click "Control Panel."

    • 2). Click the "Performance Information & Tools" icon.

    • 3). Select the "Advanced Tools" link located on the left side panel of your window.

    • 4). Click the "Open Task Manager" link.

    • 5). Locate the "Physical Memory" section underneath the "Performance" tab. Note the "Total" amount of memory, in megabytes, your computer came with. The "Free" amount will tell you how many megabytes of memory you have remaining.
