- 1). Open up the hood of your Mustang and use a wrench to loosen the bolts which clamp the battery cables to their respective terminals. Lift the positive and negative cables off the terminals.
- 2). Use a phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws which attach the rubber bezel to the outside of the instrument panel. Pull the bezel away from the dash and place in a safe area for reattachment later.
- 3). Remove the three mounting screws which fix the instrument panel in place. Slide the panel carefully out of the dash. Unhook the electrical connector from the rear of the panel using either your hand or a flat-head screwdriver.
- 4). Insert the new instrument panel in the same position within the dash as the old one. Attach the electrical connector to the back and fix in place using the mounting screws.
- 5). Reattach the bezel around the instrument panel and connect the positive and negative cables back on to their respective battery terminals. Turn on the engine to check that the new instrument panel now works as it should.
