- 1). Pour the paints you want to use into small plastic cups. This will reduce wasting paint and keep colors separate until you mix them together. You can mix them in clean plastic cups.
- 2). Dip your brush into paint and place the tip in the center of your prepared canvas. Without releasing, paint a circle away from your point going clockwise.
- 3). Continue your circular stroke without lifting the brush or meeting your previously made marks. You are painting circles around your initial point, which spiral clockwise.
- 4). Stop the spiral brushstroke once you have a large enough spiral. Dip your brush back into your paints to add more color. Add more paint to this spiral or go back and add paint between the lines of your spiral.
