- 1). Draw a large, horizontal oval in pencil. Keep your lines soft.
- 2). Draw a light line in pencil bisecting the oval horizontally. Extend two lines downward at 60 degree angles from the right and left corners of the horizontal line. This will form an upside-down triangle.
- 3). Trace the top of the oval above the horizontal dividing line. Follow the right and left arms of the triangle in pen. This will form the basic shape of the sea shell.
- 4). Bisect your basic shell with a horizontal line. Extend this line downward slightly below the bottom tip of the shell shape.
- 5). Draw a small, horizontal oval at the bottom tip of the shell using a pencil. This oval should be symmetrically divided in two by the vertical line extending from the base of the shell.
- 6). Draw a horizontal line in pencil that bisects the small oval. Extend two lines upward at 60 degree angles to form a small triangle. The top tip of this triangle should meet at the vertical dividing line inside of your shell.
- 7). Trace the bottom half of the small oval in pen. Follow the lines of the small triangle until they reach the pen lines of the shell shape. Do not continue tracing the triangle lines inside of the shell.
- 8). Extend two lines fanning upward from the bottom tip of the shell, inside of the right half. Make sure these lines touch the top line of the shell. Repeat this step on the left half. Draw these lines in pen and keep them symmetrical on both halves of the shell. Erase all pencil lines.
