How to Create a Partition for Installing OS

    • 1). Go to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "System and Security" > "Administrative Tools" and then double-click "Computer Management." Enter your admin password if prompted to do so.

    • 2). Click "Disk Management" on the left pane under "Storage."

    • 3). Right-click an unallocated region on your hard disk, and then click "New Simple Volume." Click "Next."

    • 4). Type the megabyte size you would like to create and then click "Next."

    • 5). Choose a drive letter or accept the default that is provided for you and then click "Next."

    • 6). Choose a format option and click "Next." The disk management utility will now format you newly created partition; once done it will be ready to install an OS.

    • 7). Review and confirm your choices and click "Finish."
