- 1). Press "F8" from the boot screen to enter the advanced boot options.
- 2). Select "Repair Your Computer" (a system recovery window appears).
- 3). Click "Startup Repair." The utility will now scan for any errors during the Windows startup process. Startup Repair may restart your computer or prompt you for choices. If problems are found, Windows will try and repair them and, if unsuccessful, a summary, as well as ideas on how to solve these problems, will show on the next screen.
- 4). Click "Next" if no problems are found. Click on the "Restart" computer button.
- 1). Click "Start," navigate to the right and click on the "Control Panel." Click on "System and Security" and click on the "Action Center" link.
- 2). Click on the "Maintenance" drop-down section. Click on the "Check for Solutions" link.
- 3). Wait until the solution checker finishes its scan. If any recommendations are shown, click the "Solve" button and see if Windows can fix the current issue. If Windows fails to solve the issues, click "Next" to close the window.
- 1). Click on "Start" and navigate to the right and click on the "Control Panel." Select "System and Security" and click on the "Windows Update" link.
- 2). Click on the "Check for Updates" button. Let Windows search for any available updates.
- 3). Download and install any updates and Windows will restart automatically if necessary. If no updates were found close the window.
- 1). Click on "Start" and navigate to the right and click on the "Control Panel." Click on "System and Security" and under the "Action Center" heading, click "Restore your computer to an earlier time."
- 2). Click on the "Open System Restore" button. (Click "Allow" if your user account control shows up.)
- 3). Select the "Recommended Restore Point" radio button and click the "Next" button. The system restore wizard will guide you through the rest of the process.
