How to Keep Posts for Friends Only on the Top in LiveJournal

    • 1). Log in to your LiveJournal account. Hover your mouse over "Journal" in the horizontal menu near the top of the page.

    • 2). Click "Post an Entry" in the drop-down sub-menu that appears under "Journal."

    • 3). Populate your post with your content. Add a notice stating that your journal is visible to your LiveJournal friends only. This notice can be either in written text, or with a custom "Friends Only" graphic that you or someone else created for "Friends Only" posts.

    • 4). Click the "Edit" link next to the date above the contents of your post.

    • 5). Change the year in the date to five or 10 years in the future from your current year. Since LiveJournal displays your posts chronologically from newest to oldest by default, this ensures that your "Friends Only" post stays on the top of your LiveJournal, with your blog posts displayed beneath it.

    • 6). Check the box next to the "Date Out of Order" option beneath the date field. Because your post is dated for a future day and year, LiveJournal will not allow you to make any posts with your current day and year if you don't date your "Friends Only" post out of order.

    • 7). Scroll down to the bottom of the post form. Click the "Post to [yourjournalname]" button at the bottom.

    • 8). Click the "View Your Journal" link to check that your "Friends Only" post looks the way you want it to.
