How to Restore Your XP to Factory Default

    • 1). Put your XP CD into your computer and restart the computer. Press any key on your keyboard when you see the message "Press any key to boot from CD-ROM..." appear on your screen.

    • 2). Wait for the driver loading process to finish (around two to five minutes) and then press the "Enter" key.

    • 3). Read the Windows XP installation license terms, press "F8" to agree to them and then highlight your XP installation with your arrow keys.

    • 4). Press the "R" key to start the repair installation. This process is automatic and--when finished--results in your computer's XP files being restored to their original factory defaults.
