- From within any Windows application, select "Print" from the "File" menu. When the print dialog box opens, select "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" and click "Print." You will be prompted to save the file with a ".xps" extension.
- You can view XPS documents that you have created or others have sent to you using the XPS Viewer application installed as part of the Windows operating system. In Windows 7, XPS Viewer is located in "All Programs."
- If you have access to a Digital Rights Management server, you can set permissions on the document within XPS Viewer to protect the document further from tampering. You can also attach a digital signature to an XPS document before you attach it to an email or share it on a network.
