Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Remove the battery and/or AC charger from the laptop to prevent any electric charges from harming you or your computer.
2
Insert your flat head screwdriver (gently) into the crack of the keyboard securing strip, located directly above the laptop's keyboard. Keep wedging it into the crack until the plastic piece starts to pry up.
3
Pry the rest of the strip off with your hands, and set it off to the side.
4
Remove the three now-exposed Phillips screws using your Phillips screwdriver. Take off the metal piece underneath the screws once they have been removed.
5
Flip the keyboard up and over the palm rest to expose the computer underneath the keyboard. Remove the two Phillips screws in the middle of the computer, and pull up on the metal piece underneath those screws. The keyboard data cable is now visible.
6
Pull the data cable carefully from its socket, fully removing the keyboard from the computer.
