- 1). Open Microsoft Paint and click the "Paint" button in the top-left corner of the screen. Click "Properties." Type "760" into the "Width" box and "100" into the "Height" box. Click the "Pixels" radio button under the "Units" section, then click the "OK" button to resize the Paint canvas.
- 2). Select a color from the "Colors" section of the ribbon. If none match your Etsy store or your preferences, click the "Edit colors" button and choose from the color rainbow.
- 3). Click the "Fill with color" tool, the small paint bucket icon on the ribbon. Click anywhere on the white banner to fill it with color for the banner background.
- 4). Choose a new color from the ribbon. Click the "Text" tool, then the "A" in the "Tools" section. Click the banner, choose a font and text size from the pop-up menu bar, and type the name of the store, such as "David's Custom Rug Hooks."
- 5). Change the color if desired. Click the banner again and choose a slightly smaller font size. Type the store's tag line, slogan or something catchy you want browsers to see. (This step is optional.)
- 6). Click the "Brushes" button on the ribbon, and select the "Airbrush" button. Choose a color you haven't yet used from the "Colors" section. Click and drag the cursor around the banner to deposit sparkle-like confetti glitter. Alternately, you can choose the "Marker" brush and draw designs such as swirls or dots on the banner.
- 7). Click the Paint button. Click "Save As." Type a name for the banner file. Click the "Save as type" menu and select "JPG." Click the "Save" button. Your banner is now ready to use as a banner on your Etsy store.
